Temperature alone does not capture what crew are exposed to on a summer exterior. Wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) combines air temperature, radiant heat from the sun, and humidity into a single number that maps directly to occupational heat stress guidelines — the same measurement used by athletics organizations and military health standards. Every monitored location reads it continuously.
Canadian winters get the same rigour. Wind chill is computed to the Environment Canada standard at every monitored location, and cold-stress work/warm-up guidance follows the ACGIH threshold schedule used by Canadian OHS bodies — evaluated from air temperature and sustained wind exactly as the published schedule prescribes, from normal breaks through shortened work periods to cease-work. Your production's jurisdiction is configured at onboarding, and alerts escalate as conditions cross from one band into the next.
Air quality during wildfire season is equally difficult to assess from a forecast alone. Stations measure fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in real time at your exact location, corrected for wildfire smoke composition and classified to the EPA six-category AQI scale — Good through Hazardous — so decisions about outdoor crew work are made on the same scale public health agencies use.
Heat, cold, and air quality monitoring are live at every station, 24/7, and feed your per-production safety thresholds directly — winter and summer alike.

On an exterior shoot, lightning is the hazard that turns a manageable day into an evacuation. Monitored locations detect nearby lightning the moment it strikes. Activity approaching in the 17–30 km band raises an advisory warning; a strike inside 16 km sends an immediate stop-work alert to the crew you designated — the motion-picture collective-agreement standard. The resume clock, 30 minutes from the last strike inside the zone, is managed for you: every new strike resets it and the crew is told the resume time moved, a standby heads-up lands five minutes out, and the all-clear is sent only when the system can prove a live feed saw no strikes for the full 30 minutes. Your safety coordinator confirms the hold and the return with evidence in hand, not a stopwatch.
When a storm approaches, you get a heads-up on what is coming and what to expect — government alerts, animated radar, and live on-site readings in one place. The event is recorded as it unfolds, images included, so the weather day is documented while it is still happening, not reconstructed afterwards.
Lightning detection and storm tracking are live at every monitored location. Predictive arrival-time estimation is in calibration and rolls out to monitored productions as validation completes.
On-site strike sensing reports last-strike distance and frequency, live. An alert is raised the moment activity moves into the range that matters for crew and tall equipment.
A strike within 16 km triggers an immediate stop-work alert — the collective-agreement hard stop. Resume is 30 minutes after the last strike in the zone; every new strike resets the clock and announces the new resume time, with a standby heads-up five minutes before the all-clear.
